Adult student returning to college to complete BA in Music Vocal Performance/Jazz Studies with minor in Psychology. Graduated from Seaside High School; attended MPC, San Jose State University, Southern Oregon University and now CSUMB. While at MPC, served as unpaid lab assistant in Social Studies Research Methodology class, where I also taught part of the class how to use the WordPerfect word processing program. I have an AAS in Graphic Design and Multimedia Presentations and worked as a graphic designer/office manager for several years. I homeschool my two sons, one for almost seven years (he's currently in middle school, my little one is in preschool). When my older son was in preschool, I worked as a parent-volunteer twice a week during his two years of attendance. I have been a frequent instructor in an informal homeschool Co-op, presenting lessons in science, history, social studies, music and art. I've been involved in Boy Scouts for six years, and I am now preparing to become a merit badge counselor. I am currently employed as a public safety/law enforcement dispatcher where I am also part of the training team for new dispatchers. As a "mature" student, I bring years of "real world" experience, and tend to get down to business quickly and get the job done. As a parent and homeschooler, I know that all students are unique, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. I do not believe in a cookie cutter approach, and I work with each student as best fits their needs and give them the tools they need to succeed.
